| Mission, Vision & Values Caminar, a non-profit agency serving the regions of San Mateo County, Solano County, and Butte County, California, has been providing community-based services for adults with disabilities and mental illness for over 40 years. We strive to support each individual in their recovery process, helping them to create and develop a personalized roadmap for achieving their goals. Our Vision Caminar is committed to promoting an environment which supports individuals in personal choices, learning and utilizing independent living skills, pursuing vocational and housing options, and becoming active, respected, and self-sufficient citizens within their community. We are committed to eliminating barriers, stigma, and prejudice to achieve full inclusion for individuals with disabilities. We aspire to build partnerships and maintain sound financial management, enabling us to be the provider of choice of the people and the communities we serve. Our Mission The central purpose and role of Caminar is defined as: Caminar’s mission is to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities by providing opportunities to live in the community with dignity and independence. Programs and Services Caminar's community-based programs are designed to maximize wellness and recovery opportunities for adults with mental, physical and developmental disabilities. We provide supportive caring environments in which individuals are empowered to create meaningful and satisfying lives for themselves. Caminar’s core services focus on community-based individual support services, intensive residential care, transitional and permanent supported housing, supported education and supported employment.
