Marissa Flenniken, MSW Candidate, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counselor

Marissa Flenniken is currently a Master of Social Work (MSW) candidate attending the University of Southern California (USC), Adult Mental Health and Wellness Social Work program. At Healthy Partnerships Marissa works as a Mental Health Clinical Intern implementing supervised use of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Problem Solving Therapy. Marissa is a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADTi), which she obtained while at Healthy Partnerships. She also counsels and case manages for the Substance Use Disorder Program. Marissa graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Behavioral Health in 2013 from Wilmington University where she developed a skill for trauma-informed care and biopsychosocial assessment.

Marissa’s personal and professional values include service, social justice, acknowledging dignity and worth of a person, understanding the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. Outside of work Marissa enjoys the outdoors, singing, reading, movies, and spending quality time with loved ones.
