A Life-saving Intervention, Because of YOU!

Because of your support of Caminar’s programs, lives are changed every day. Thank you. Lives like Mia and Roberto’s, who recently shared their story with us:

Mia, a high school student, was called into her principal's office because her grades were declining. Mia shared that her grades resulted from extreme worry about her father’s severe depression.

Her principal immediately connected Mia and her father, Roberto, with our Wellness Program, which provided a source of stability and hope for Mia and clinical support for Roberto.

Thriving in school and thrilled to “have her father back,” Mia is thankful for the help of the Wellness Program. Roberto overcame his depression, is fully employed, and feels like himself again.

Thank you for giving Mia and Roberto the gift of help, health, and hope.

Donate today to continue to help improve access to Caminar’s life-changing mental health programs for our community’s underserved youth and families, and your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 thanks to a generous matching gift offer from two anonymous board members!

Thank you for your generosity. Together, we can restore wellness in our community.

Institutional Giving Update

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) recently announced $6 million in grants to organizations in San Mateo County through the CZI Community Fund. Caminar is honored to be one of the 63 recipients of the annual funding opportunity for organizations that are helping create a more socially, economically, and racially just San Mateo County.

The Community Fund pairs grants with capacity building to support leadership and organizational development so local groups have the resources and tools they need to further their missions and work.

Caminar is grateful for the ongoing support of CZI in our community and is delighted to partner with CZI to help address the urgent needs of our local community.

December 31 is coming: consider ways to reduce income tax

December 31st is almost here! Now is a great time to consider ways to reduce your income tax while supporting a cause that is important to you and your family. Caminar is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and your contributions are tax-deductible as permitted by law.

If you have reached retirement age and need to begin taking a required minimum distribution (RMD) from your IRA account before December 31st, you can donate a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) to Caminar and pay no taxes on the required minimum distribution income!

We recommend you speak with your financial advisor for more information on how you can reduce your income taxes while preserving your cash resources. Charity Navigator’s information page details how to donate your IRA required minimum distribution.

WHY I SUPPORT CAMINAR

"The mission of the organization and the services provided give me hope for humanity.
I had a brilliant cousin who had a schizophrenic break while attending college.
The family would have benefitted from an organization like Caminar."
