Giving with the New Tax Laws

As a valued supporter of Caminar, your generosity fuels our mission to provide whole-person care and compassionate support to those who need it most. In 2025, Congress passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which includes significant changes to federal tax law that will affect charitable giving starting in 2026.

You may be wondering how these changes will impact your contributions and what steps you can take now to prepare. We’ve put together this FAQ to help you navigate the new landscape and continue giving with confidence. Here's the first FAQ:

Why should I pay attention to this now if the new tax law doesn’t take effect until 2026?

Great question! While the new rules won’t apply until the 2026 tax year, the decisions you make in 2025 can have a big impact on your future giving strategy. This is the perfect time to:

  • Plan ahead with your financial advisor or tax preparer
  •
  • Consider making larger gifts in 2025 before the new limits kick in
  •
  • Explore tools like Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) to maximize your deductions now and give over time
  •

By understanding the changes early, you can make informed choices that align with your values and ensure your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference for you and the people Caminar serves.
