A NOTE FROM MARK: OUR DAYS

Dear Friends,

I wanted to reach out to you all about the circumstances we find ourselves in at this moment. I am sure, like many of you, the emotional toll of COVID has depleted our reserves. On top of that, current events are challenging our emotional resilience and spirits.

It is devastating to watch the senseless, unprovoked attack on Ukraine, where some of us have family living. It is painful to think of the deaths and the refugee situation that is unfolding in front of us. Despite all of the diplomacy, threat of sanctions, and humanitarian pleas, we have to contend with a bully autocrat who incites and drives violence and mayhem in the world.

We also find ourselves reeling from the cynical use of public policy in Texas where the governor has proposed to institute criminal charges against parents of children who are seeking gender-affirming medicine, citing it as “child abuse.”  What a mean-spirited attack that twists the truth and harms parents who are truly being loving and responsive to their transgender children.

And then there are the unresolved or evolving verdicts of the murders of Black Americans that restimulate the trauma so many People of Color must deal with daily.  At the end of long trials, even when verdicts seem to deliver justice to surviving family members, we are all left with the horrible feeling the victim is still dead and the violence and racism continue.

I am mindful of the burdens of our day and grateful for your support of Caminar and our clients. Thank you.

Warmly,

Mark Cloutier
Caminar CEO
